WORKERS gathered to remember their lost colleagues in a special ceremony on Friday.
They met at Waltham Forest Town Hall where the flag was flown at half mast for the annual Workers Day of Remembrance.
Councillors and borough MPs took a quiet moment to remember those affected.
The day is an international commemoration of workers who have been killed, disabled, injured or made unwell by their work.
Trade unions around the world have highlighted the day to ensure that people realise how preventable most industrial deaths and injuries are.
The International Confederation of Free Trade Unions estimates that 500 workers are killed at work every day and an estimated 65-165 million contract occupational diseases.
