Chapel End 5 Thorpe Hall 0 (Waltham Forest Primary Girls' League Cup): Chapel End Junior Girls' continued their winning run by securing their latest trophy of the year.

This season the unstoppable team from Walthamstow added the Primary Girls' League Cup to their trophy haul.

In the semi-final they beat Thorpe Hall 5-0, before going on to defeat Wellington school from Chingford 6-0 in the final.

The Chapel End team, managed by teacher Kirsty Etreme, has dominated girls' football in the borough this season and look on course to complete a league and cup double as they are in playoff action in a few weeks.

League co-ordinator, Oz Orman said: "Miss Etreme and her coaches have worked wonders in transforming the side.

"They have not conceded a goal all season and are the best girls' team that I have seen."

The league is based at Douglas Eyre Sports Ground in Walthamstow and this season 20 schools have competed. The league play off final is on Thursday May 18.

Colchester 2 Redbridge 4 (Essex Ladies League Cup U15): A keenly contested county cup encounter saw Redbridge progress to the semi-finals.

The home team were quicker into their stride and were rewarded with an early lead.

Redbridge then began to dominate proceedings.

A period of sustained pressure followed and two goals from the prolific Holly Butterworth and an own goal ensured that Redbridge took a 3-1 lead at half-time.

The visitors picked up where they had left off and a well-struck long range effort from Vicky Heffernan effectively ended the match as a contest.

Colchester kept battling away and closed the gap with a well-taken goal.

Jessica Mitchell, in the Redbridge goal was in great form and comfortably handled the periods of Colchester pressure.
