AN Epping teenager has danced his way to victory in a countrywide competition.
Connor McCabe, 14, of Hartland Road, competed against 40 other entrants to win the ballroom section of the International Dance Teachers Association Medallist of the Year Competition in Blackpool.
The win follows a second place in the Latin section.
Connor, who has danced for almost six years, attends the Wright Rhythm dancing school in Chingford and trains between two and four times a week.
Speaking about his success, Connor said: "I'm still really shocked; I haven't come down yet and can't stop smiling. There were lots of people cheering me on and there was a fantastic atmosphere, but I was totally surprised to win first place."
Proud father Steve said: "We're all absolutely delighted and hope he will go on to more success. "Our lives revolve around dancing and we attend competitions all over the country and his success is rewarding for everybody involved."
