THE boyfriend of missing Wanstead teacher Sarah Flooks has denied being in the frame for her murder.

A headline in the Evening Standard newspaper on Monday claimed John Mouzouros believed the discovery of Miss Flooks's personal diary cleared him of being involved in killing her.

The diary revealed her anxiety shortly before she went missing on March 2.

Speaking to the Guardian Mr Mouzouros said he has never been in the frame. He said: "Nobody has made any allegations against me and the only people who bring these things up are the Standard."

Miss Flooks, 50, went missing from her home in Wanstead Park Avenue exactly 12 weeks ago today.

She was last seen walking along Aldersbrook Road at around 8am on March 2 towards Forest Gate where she teaches at a primary school.

However Miss Flooks did not arrive at school and has not been seen since.

Mr Mouzouros, who has been Miss Flooks's boyfriend for 30 years, handed the diary over to police two weeks ago when he found it in a desk drawer. It reveals her fears of an Ofsted inspection which began the day she went missing.

Mr Mouzouros, 54, said: "It covers the last three or four years. It starts with general moans about things like me not putting up shelves then it progresses as we get closer to her disappearance.

"She breaks things down saying things like how will I feel next week after the Ofsted?' I knew she was worried about that but not as worried as it says she was."

Although never being a suspect, Mr Mouzouros did say that police had surprised him by searching his belongings.

He said: "I was watching the programme about the Moors murders the other night and it hadn't occurred to me that all the fathers of the children were suspected of their deaths, pthat eople close to people who go missing are suspected.

"I have a huge record collection and the police have been through all of that. What foxes me is that I still cannot figure out what they have been looking for."
