Chingford 175-4
Hornchurch 254-4 (dec)
(Division One)

CHINGFORD'S rain-hit match with Hornchurch at Forest Side ended in a stalemate.

Home captain Shaun McMurray won the toss and elected to bowl.

Unfortunately for Chingford this decision backfired as very few of the bowling attackers managed to touch down owing to the tough conditions, Niraj Odedra 2-64 and Macca Meade 2-30 picked up the only wickets.

This allowed Hornchurch to post an imposing total of 258 from 48 overs with Kym Beazleigh (63), Paul Murray (94) and Ian Flanagan (68) making the bulk of the runs.

Chingford, with less time than usual owing to interruptions from the rain, managed to post 175-4 in reply.

Brian Pietersen top scored with 52 not out, supported by Meade (30), Ben MacGregor (35) and James Hill (23) to earn a share of the points.
