A TEENAGER has been charged with trying to push a schoolgirl onto the railway tracks at Loughton underground station.
Jerome Carney, 19, of Northolt, will appear in court next month after the girl narrowly avoided falling onto the electrified line when she was attacked by a man at around 4pm on Thursday February 18.
Officers were fearful that they could not bring a prosecution because the girl ran away after the attack happened, but she has now come forward following a media appeal in the Epping Forest Guardian.
Mr Carney, who is charged with endangering safety on the railway, will appear at Harlow Magistrates Court on Tuesday May 11.
