POLICE are deciding whether to investigate at least one allegation of electoral fraud in the borough, just hours before polling day.
With less than 24 hours until polling stations open for both the general and local elections, police have revealed they are currently assessing a number of claims, including at least one about elections in Redbridge.
The Metropolitan Police Service confirmed that Redbridge is one of the boroughs in which allegations have been made but were not able to say which election they related to.
A police spokesman said: "We have received 28 separate allegations of electoral irregularities across London.
"Five of these are being investigated, while 23 are being assessed."
Other boroughs in which allegations have been made are Tower Hamlets (where four allegations are being investigated), Lambeth, Barking and Dagenham, Westminster, Enfield, Hounslow, Haringey, Ealing, Brent, Bexley, and Camden.
