A TEENAGER was stabbed in an unprovoked attack by a gang of youths wearing bandannas across their faces.

The 19-year-old victim is recovering at home after being set upon in Church Hill Road, Walthamstow.

He was walking on his own when he was approached by the suspects who surrounded him.

The victim was then attacked by the group, who knifed him a number of times.

The group of about ten, wearing bandannas across their faces, fled on push bikes.

A friend of the victim who was driving his car nearby found the him and took him to hospital.

He is now home making a steady recovery.

The attack happened on Saturday, April 10, at 23.40pm, but the Met Police have only just issued a public appeal for information.

Detective Constable Pete Gray said: "This was a violent and unprovoked attack on a member of the local community. "I would gratefully receive any information which can further this investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice."
