THE result of a recount of a disputed council election is due to be announced this morning.
All the ballots for Walthamstow's High Street Ward councillor poll in May have been re-examined after a member of the public spotted a possible error in the final voting figures.
It has been suggested that the Labour party were mistakenly given 1,000 extra block votes, meaning they got a councillor elected at the expense of the Liberal Democrats.
A hearing at the Royal Courts of Justice to declare the outcome of the recount is scheduled to happen this morning.
An exact time for the hearing has not been announced, but court officials say it could happen anytime from 10.30am.
