THE Waltham Forest branch of Amnesty International is to hold a 1920s-style ball to raise money for its human rights work.
Participants are being encouraged to dress up in full 1920s attire for the event, which will feature music by Walthamstow jazz band Los Otros.
Organiser Claire Bithell said: "For one night only, we are challenging the residents of E17 to glam up for charity, so expect flapper dresses, shocking red lipstick, slick suits and jazz music.
"Come along and step back in time to experience the decade of nightclubs, jazz, American gangsters and Hollywood sparkle."
The ball, on Friday September 24, will be held at the Orford Road Social Club, at number 73 Orford Road, Walthamstow.
Entry costs £7 or £5 for concessions.
