A CHESS club champion won 11 games as he took on 15 fellow club members at once.
Last night Ian Hunnable, champion of Wanstead and Woodford Chess Club, played 15 club members simultaneously.
The club resumed activities after a short summer break.
Moving quickly from board to board and spending only a few seconds over each of his moves, Mr Hunnable soon established a dominant position in most of the games.
Mr Hunnable lost to Peter Nickals, club treasurer, and David Smith, club secretary, and hard fought draws were also recorded by Laurie Burtt and John Keehner.
Wanstead and Woodford Chess Club meets every Tuesday evening at Wanstead House, 21 The Green.
