TWO artists hope to bring the community together by encouraging people to hold dinner parties in public.
Tabitha Pope and Alexander Parry, from Hackney, have set up a permanent table on Walthamstow Marshes, near Coppermill Lane.
The pair plan to set up a stall in Walthamstow Market on Friday in an attempt to involve residents in creating a design which will be carved into the table.
Mr Parry, 25, said: “The idea for the table's design was made by Tabitha who wants to base it the tradition of street parties.
“We want to get people using public areas more and have dinner parties. It will be a place for people to meet and will create connections between local people.”
The pattern will be carved into the table between October 13 and October 16, while a dinner party will be held at the site on October 17, between midday and 5pm.
