THREE local community groups benefited from donations made from the proceeds of the Waltham Abbey Flower Festival in May.
Each year festival organisers give money to the Abbey Church and St Clare Hospice, and this year they also included Waltham Abbey Day Centre.
On Friday the church's Fabric Fund received £5,100 while St Clare and the day centre were each presented with cheques for £2,550.
Flower festival committee chairman Brian Snell said: "In the past we've given half to the church and half to St Clare but this year we wanted to spread it a little wider and the day centre needed funds and we wanted to give a local charity some money.
"Around 2,000 people attended the flower festival and this is the most we've raised for a while. We were very pleased."
The rest of the moneywill go towards the cost of next year's festival.
