FILM-makers have descended on the area to shoot a film about a mad scientist and Princess Diana.

The low-budget British film is being shot at a flat in Leytonstone today.

It centres around a scientist who wants to create a clone of Diana. But her plan is unravelled by a man and a gangster who both try to stop her.

The film is the brainchild of Leytonstone man Sajeev Cheeroth, of Malinson Court, High Road. He has created a couple of short films before, but this will be his biggest yet.

The crew were today shooting scenes at his flat. He is also starring in the film as the gangster who tries to stop scientist Melissa's plan.

Helen Langston, of Red Buddha Films, is producing the film. She said: “Sajeev wants to take the film to festivals and for it to be a cult that gets a reaction.

“It is about a scientist who has cloned Princess Diana. People become tangled in her web trying to stop her.

“Tomorrow is the last day of filming. Sajeev is from the area and knows it well. He chose locations in Stratford, Leyton and Leytonstone. We also filmed in Epping Forest.”

Twenty crew and seven actors have been shooting the film, which cost £40,000, for 26 days.

They expect to have it finished in a few months' time.
