WALTHAM Abbey resident Julia Connie' Vyse celebrated her 101st birthday with friends and family at Paternoster House.
Mrs Vyse was born in Enfield but lived in the area when she was a young girl and returned to Waltham Abbey to enjoy her retirement following a career living and working in Canvey Island.
She moved to Paternoster House in 2004.
Among those celebrating with Mrs Vyse were her daughter, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The home's head of activities, Theresa Cakebread, said: "It was a lovely, memorable day for Connie. She really enjoyed herself and was pleased to be with her family."
Mrs Vyse was presented with a cake and opened cards and presents from her family and staff at Paternoster House.
