A CRASH involving three cars has closed a main road in Chingford this lunchtime.

Friday Hill is shut both ways after the smash, which happened just after 11.30am near the junction with Simmons Lane.

One man has been taken to Whipps Cross Hospital suffering from neck pains but no other injuries have been reported.

The vehicles involved are thought to be an Alpha Romeo, a Vauxhall Astra and a Mitsubishi Raging Bull.

The emergency services are working to reopen the road as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile both the 212 and 357 buses are being diverted because of the closure.
