A GAS leak which forced the evacuation of homes and the closure of two streets earlier today has been fixed.
Residents in Queenswood Avenue, Walthamstow, were ordered to leave their properties at around 2pm today following reports of the fault.
Nearby Fulbourne Road was also sealed off as a precaution, causing traffic delays and the diversion of several bus routes.
But police have just confirmed that maintenance staff have now dealt with the problem and all roads have reopened.
