WALTHAM FOREST: Tube workers to strike
Tube workers are set to strike in protest at the sacking of two drivers.
The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union has said staff have voted in favour of the walk out, which is planned for between nine and 24 hours from Monday May 16 to Friday May 20 and again between Monday June 13 to Friday June 17.
The action is in protest at the sacking of tube drivers Eamon Lynch and Arwyn Thomas.
The RMT claims the men are being victimised for union activity, while Transport for London claims one man broke safety rules while the other was abusive towards colleagues.
