A YOUNG man with links to the Ongar area is being hunted by police in connection with a burglary.
Officers say they are keen to speak to Oliver Sheppard, 22, following a break-in at a house in Chapman Road, Clacton, on Saturday April 23.
A Mini Cooper car was stolen from outside the property sometime between midnight and 6am before crashing into a nearby pub.
Cash, credit cards, clothing, sunglasses and a satellite navigation system were also stolen.
He is also wanted on recall to prison for failing to comply with the terms of his licence, although police have not released further details of this.
Sheppard is well known in the Clacton area and is thought to currently be in Colchester but is suspected of visiting St Osyth and Ongar on a regular basis.
He is described as white, six foot one inch tall and of a medium build.
He has blond hair, blue eyes and speaks with an East Anglian accent.
A police spokesman said: "Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Oliver Sheppard is asked to contact officers at Clacton CID on 0300 333 4444.
"Members of the public can also contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where they can pass on information anonymously."
