CROWDS flocked to see Spitfires and samurai at this year’s American Eagles Fun Day.
The event, which was organised by Epping Forest District Council and Weald Aviation, took place on Sunday, June 5, at North Weald Airfield to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the American Eagles Squadron’s arrival during World War 2.
Visitors enjoyed war reenactments, fly pasts by Spitfires and Hurricanes and displays by the Essex Chapter Harley Davidson motorbikes and samurai warriors.
There was a bouncey castle and fairground for children.
Funds were raised for Help for Heroes and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust.
A Council Spokeswoman said: “The day was a fantastic success. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and we raised vital funds for several charities on the day.”
