A 10-year-old boy was subjected to a terrifying robbery by two men.

The boy was walking along Spratt Hall Road in Wanstead at around 4pm when the men drew up alongside him in what the boy described as a small green car.

One of the men asked for directions to Forest Gate and, while the boy was trying to help, he was pulled towards the car, hitting his face on the vehicle in the process.

The men grabbed the boy’s mobile phone from his hand and drove off in the direction of the Green Man roundabout.

The victim described the first man as aged between 20 and 25, Asian, and with a full beard. His accomplice is thought to be about the same age, black and wearing his hair in dreadlocks.

Anyone with any information on the attack, which took place on Friday, July 15, should call DC Terry Smith of Redbridge Police on 0208 345 2680.
