THE family of a man killed in a suspected hit-and-run have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Father-of-two Keith Scrivener, 34, from Loughton, was found dead on Epping High Road by a lorry driver at 6.30am on Saturday (August 6).

He leaves his wife of six years, Amy, a five-year-old daughter, three-year-old son, parents and a sister.

In a joint statement, his family said today (Thursday): “He was the most amazing father and spent every moment he could with his children.

“He was down to earth, caring, thoughtful, and had the most wonderful sense of humour.”

They thanked the lorry driver who stopped and called an ambulance when he found Mr Scrivener’s body near Bell Common and asked anyone with information about what happened on the night he was killed to call the police.

They described the IT worker, who supported West Ham United FC, as a keen sportsman, who played football, tennis and golf and completed a half marathon last year.

He and his family moved to Loughton from Brentwood two years ago.

A 51-year-old man from the Woodford area handed himself in to police the day after the crash and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision.

He has been bailed to return to police by November 6.

Anyone with information on the incident, which is thought to have happened between midnight and 1am on Saturday, should call Essex Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01245 240590.
