A VET practice manager is gearing up for a gruelling 874-mile bike ride from the northern to the southern tip of the UK in aid of a charity.

Dan Cable, from Companion Care Vets in Hall Lane, Chingford will be riding from Lands End to Jon o'Groats next May, to raise £50,000 for Dogs for the Disabled.

Following 10 months of training, he will be part of a team of 17 people taking the trip, that is expected to take between ten and fourteen days.

He said: “Dogs for the Disabled is an amazing charity that really does transform lives so when the opportunity arose for me to get involved I jumped at the chance.

“Whilst I won’t pretend it won’t be a challenge of monumental proportions the team and I are determined to raise as much money as possible and have lots of fun along the way.”

The charity helps disabled people to increase their independence by training specially selected dogs to live and work with them.
