RESIDENTS are being asked to help the council save thousands of pounds by returning their voter registration forms promptly.

Between August 19 and September 2 voting registration forms will be sent to every household in the district.

Epping Forest District has requested that the forms are completed and returned by September 12 to help save the thousands of pounds it costs to send out reminders.

Electoral registration officer Ian Willett said: "Last year 70% of forms were returned by the end of September, but this figure could be higher."

“There was a lot of interest in the referendum in May and we were pleased with the increase in registration shortly before polling day but some people may not realise that they have to register every year.”
