THE county council has been announced as one of 37 local authorities across the country to enter into a government scheme aimed at providing stability in children’s lives.

The government has set aside £6 million for the project, but it is not yet clear how much funding the county council would receive.

Social workers and other services in Essex will use the funding to try and prevent children from needing to go into care by working with families.
