Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen could be missing from the Gunners starting XI for up to six weeks.
The Belgium international had surgery on an Achilles injury picked up in the Champions League qualifier against Udinese last month.
Arsenal have yet to comment on how long the 25-year-old will be absent for but his father estimates it will be six weeks.
