The Costa Rica international scored nine goals for FC Twente last season and was also reportedly monitored by Tottenham Hotspur.
With many foreign players taking time to adapt to the Premier League, Ruiz, 26, will be hoping to get off the mark for Fulham this weekend as they face Blackburn.
