A COMMITTEE of councillors has made a number of recommendations for improving the protection of vulnerable adults in Waltham Forest.
An independent review last year found procedures needed strengthening and a panel was established to examine council practice.
It has now made 20 recommendations to Cabinet, which will be considered on Tuesday (September 13).
These include improving scrutiny of performance, increasing involvement of the private and voluntary sector and establishing a single point of contact for all agencies.
It also recommends that more attention should be paid to vulnerable residents in un-regulated care homes and awareness of abuse should be increased.
