WALTHAMSTOW-based artist Grayson Perry has been commissioned to curate an exhibition at the British Museum.
Mr Perry, who won the Turner Prize in 2003, will be installing a variety of his works alongside a series of objects made by anonymous men and women throughout history.
The exhibition will feature pieces by Perry, including vases, tapestries and a centrepiece of a decorated cast iron coffin ship. They will be arranged alongside the artefacts.
Mr Perry, who has a studio off Forest Road in Walthamstow, said: "This is a memorial to all the anonymous craftsmen that over the centuries have fashioned the manmade wonders of the world.
"The craftsman’s anonymity I find especially resonant in an age of the celebrity artist."
The installation will run from October 6 until February 19 next year.
