BUG hunting, ferret roulette and welly throwing will all feature at an autumn fete on Saturday, October 1.
TheUnto the Fields fete will be held from 11am to 4pm in the meadows and woodland of the Roding Valley Nature Reserve and there will be a range of stalls, demonstrations and educational activities available.
The event is being organized by Epping Forest District Council's Countrycare service, which looks after the district's green spaces.
A Countrycare spokeswoman said: “The meadows represent the largest remaining area of traditionally managed flood-plain hay meadow and marsh in Essex. The event aims to educate people about wildlife and involve them in the conservation practices involved in looking after our nature reserves and green spaces in a fun and informal manner.”
Parking is available by the Pavilion, Grange Farm Lane, Chigwell, IG7 6DP.
Disabled parking is available at the Roding Valley Nature Reserve car park, off Roding Lane, near David Lloyd Leisure Centre.
