THE amount of money made by Redbridge Council by wrongly charging for parking is yet to be revealed.
It emerged this week that, despite an announcement on September 6 that the authority had ditched new restricted hours, meters were not changed.
This left many confused motorists paying to park when it was free, and others being ticketed incorrectly by wardens who had not been told of the changes.
Despite a request by the Guardian on Wednesday (September 28), The council is yet to release details of how much motorists were charged in error.
The authority introduced charges in busy streets between 7am and 7pm, seven days a week.
But following public pressure restrictions were changed back to between 8.30am and 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday.
Redbridge Council said motorists must contact the authority to get a refund.
