SIX students are through to the national finals of an art competition.
Pupils from Normanhurst School in Station Road, Chingford, took part in the Independent Schools Association (ISA) Regional Art competition, for the North London area, on Friday September 30.
The students, aged between 11 and 16 came first place in six categories, including, Textiles, Sketchbook work and three dimensional art, which means they go through to a national final later in the year.
Six others came in at second place and another was highly commended for their art work.
The annual event was held at the Corus Hotel in Hertfordshire and is an opportunity for schools to showcase their students' art and for teachers to share their ideas.
Normanhurst Headmistress, Claire Osborn, said: ”I am so proud of our pupils who achieve very highly at many age groups, they are encouraged by our enthusiastic Art Department."
