A HEALTHCARE assistant used forged documents to net £95,000 from the NHS.

Illegal immigrant Mojisola Madandola, of Vicarage Road, Stratford, used false passports to gain work with NHS Outer North East London and secure training funded by the taxpayer.

She was paid £95,480 between 2005 and 2011, while her college fees totalled £20,000.

The Nigerian had made an unsuccessful application for indefinite leave to stay in the UK in 2003.

She was arrested at Whipps Cross University Hospital during a temporary student work placement.

Between March 2009 and the time of her arrest in May 2011 she spent approximately half of her course time working in hospitals, much of it at Whipps.

The 44-year-old received a six month suspended jail sentence on Wednesday (October 19) but she is not being deported.
