PUPILS are through to the final of a national chemistry competition.
The team of four from Chigwell School in the High Road beat off 19 other schools from the county over two rounds to appear in the regional final of the Royal Chemistry Society’s Chemistry Masterminds Competition at the King Edward VI Grammar School in Chelmsford on December 1.
They faced four other teams in the regional heat and after a winning a series of quick fire quiz rounds on a range of chemistry subjects will now represent Essex in the national final in Imperial College in London next year.
Competition organiser Dr Peter Osborne from the Royal Society of Chemistry said: “They are a very good team and have progressed over the years from being a team who were not able to qualify to being a team who have got through to the national final.”
