THREE houses are due to be built on the site of a warehouse, after planning permission for the development was granted.
The new homes at Voluntary Place in Snaresbrook will be two-bedroom terraced houses with mezzanine floors in the roofs and their own driveways.
Neighbours told Redbridge Council they were worried about the new homes leading to a lack of privacy and noise.
Nazir Faquir, of New Wanstead, said in a letter to planners: “I cannot see any reason to have windows in what is ostensibly loft space.
“No other property facing the rear of New Wanstead has rear facing windows in the loft. This would therefore set a very unwelcome precedent.”
But planners decided that the new development, which the Wanstead Society said would enhance the look of the area, met local guidelines.
