POLICE have made a fresh plea over the shooting of two hotel owners after a man was jailed for their murder.

Mohammed Ayub Khan, 28, of no fixed address, was given a life sentence for his part in the murder of Amarjit Singh, 52 and his nephew Rajinder Singh, 35, who are believed to have lived in a Chigwell mansion, after a row over parking.

Khan had blocked a road at the back of the Forest View Hotel in Romford Road, Forest Gate, which the pair ran.

As they could not get through, they blocked him in with his van.

Khan returned with two other men and attacked their van during the confrontation on Friday, August 29 2003.

One of the men was then seen taking a Mach 10 machine gun out of a bag and firing 10 rounds, killing Amrjit and Rajinder.

Khan was quickly named as a suspect, but fled to Pakistan and was traced to Bangladesh in August last year.

After being extradited back to the UK, he was charged with murder in October.

On being found guilty at Woolwich Crown Court on December 12, he was sentenced to a minimum of 26 years in prison.

Inspector Andrew Yeats of the Met Police Homicide and Serious Crime Command said: “We are still seeking two casually-dressed Asian men wearing hooded tops in their late teens or early 20s.

“They ran away from the scene during the busy period after Friday prayers and turned right into Norwich Road, crossed Romford Road and continued south in Margery Park Road where they may have got into a parked vehicle.”

Police are also still looking for the murder weapon.

Anyone with information should call the incident room on 0208 345 1570 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
