WALTHAMSTOW: Police chase in Coppermill Lane

POLICE swarmed into Coppermill Lane, Walthamstow, this lunchtime during a high-speed chase.

Officers and a police helicopter pursued a vehicle to the street before its driver got out and ran.

It happened at 12.25pm, a Met spokesman said.

The Guardian is awaiting further details from police as to why they were chasing the vehicle and what happened to the suspects.

Probably another OAP not wearing his seat belt, doubt if it would have been anyone dangerous though.

My wife witnessed it and it was a car being driven at high speed that nearly hit a pedestrian. The car was abandoned by the driver and his passenger and they made off towards Hackney. The police apparently know who the driver is...
