A BID to build a three-storey block of nine flats behind a row of shops in Chingford Mount has been rejected.
Applicant Steve Smith wanted to demolish rear buildings and erect the structure in Woodberry Yard off Hall Lane, but it was turned down by the council.
The authority said the location of the proposed building, along with its bulk and height, was unsuitable.
Concerns were also raised about the lack of easy access to the proposed development and inadequate bicycle storage.
