A DOCTOR who was suspended after he prescribed the wrong drugs to patients is to have his case reviewed by the General Medical Council (GMC) today.
Dr Arun Rauniar, a GP at the Vicarage Road Medical Practice in Leyton from 2003, was found guilty of multiple failings in April 2008.
The GMC heard how he also performed surgery without being qualified and falsely claimed to be a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.
In 2008 he was suspended for two years and ordered to undergo retraining, but that was extended after the health watchdog ruled he had failed to make sufficient progress.
A new GMC panel is scheduled to review his case over the next two days (Tuesday March 6 and Wednesday March 7).
It will decide whether or not he can return to work in the medical profession.
