AN e-fit has been released of one of the men believed to be responsible for a burglary by bogus police officers.
The incident occurred on March 2, when the men knocked on the door of an elderly woman in Manor Road, Chigwell, at about 9.30am and claimed they were police.
When the woman asked to see identification they barged through the chain-locked front door and stole the woman’s Rolex watch before running out.
Previously, men posing as police officers stole cash from an elderly disabled woman in Buckhurst Hill on February 8, and an elderly couple on the Ninefields estate in Waltham Abbey on February 24.
They are also being linked to an attempted burglary in New Farm Drive, Abridge, on February 29.
The thieves, who struck on March 2, are believed to be in their 20s, and about five feet seven inches tall.
The man pictured is described as being mixed race, with light coloured skin, of slim build with a shaved head and bulging eyes.
He was wearing blue jeans and a dark military style woolen coat.
His accomplice is white, of medium build and was wearing a tracksuit, trainers and a beanie hat.
Investigating Officer, DS Becky Young, said: "We’re releasing this e-fit of the man described as being of mixed heritage. The description is fairly unique and so we’re hoping people can put this together with the e-fit image and provide us with a name.”
