LIVERPOOL-based group Dead Belgian play a special show at Ye Olde Rose and Crown in Walthamstow this Friday (March 23).

The acclaimed group, who are the guests of Walthamstow Folk Club, play the music of the late revered songwriter Jacques Brel.

Support comes from the great Playing Rapunzel.

Tickets cost £8 and doors open at 8pm.

It's in the upstairs room of the pub in Hoe Street, Walthamstow.

Folk comedian Richard Digance plays the venue at Walthamstow Folk Club's normal slot on Sunday night (March 25).

Entry is £10 and doors are at 7.30pm. There are no advance ticket sales for this one, so get there early to be sure of a spot.

Steve O'Donoghue headlines Loughton Folk Club on Thursday (March 22).

Entry is £3 and doors open at 8pm.

It's at the Loughton Club in Station Road.

The Dave Jackson Band play the 17Blues Club at Walthamstow Cricket Club on Friday (March 23).

These guys play classic blues with a rocky edge.

Support comes from DJ Lanky Mick.

Admission is free but donations welcome.

Doors to the club, in Greenway Avenue, open at 8.30pm.

Steve Rushton hosts a blues jam at the same venue on Monday (March 26) and then intimate jazz quartet Babelfish, featuring singer Brigitte Bereha, performs on Wednesday (March 28).

It's from 8.30pm and costs £5.

Saxophone master Dave O'Higgins performs at the East Side Jazz Club at the Lord Rookwood pub in Cann Hall Road, Leytonstone, next Tuesday (March 27).

He's backed up by the talented Mark Ridout on guitar, Geoff Gascoyne on bass and resident drummer Clive Fenner.

Entry is £5 and it's from 8.30pm.

Miss Quincy and The Showdown, who play rocking roots and blues, take to the stage at the Birkbeck Tavern in Langthorne Road, Leytonstone, on Wednesday (March 28).

It's starts at 8.30pm and entry is free, although donations welcome.

Waltham Abbey Folk Club in Essex have a singaround jam night on Monday (March 26) from 8.30pm. It costs £1.50p to get in.
