AN OVERGROWN path which had become a mugging hotspot has been cleared at the request of local police.
Bushwood path off Bushwood on the border with Waltham Forest, had become so overgrown that criminals had taken to hiding in the bushes to ambush passers-by.
Wanstead Safer Neighbourhoods team contacted the City of London Corporation and, with the help of local volunteers, they cleared it over two weekends earlier this month.
Epping Forest Constable Ian Greer, said: “The work has certainly made the path a lot safer to use and we have had numerous messages from local residents thanking us.”
