THREE teenagers have been arrested after they allegedly punched a boy in the face and tried to steal his bicycle.

It happened in Abbotts Park, Leyton, at around 4.20pm last Thursday (March 29).

Police say a passer-by intervened in the attack which forced the youths to run off empty-handed.

A Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) then detained a trio matching their description in nearby Abbotts Park Road.

But when officers arrived at the park the victim had also gone, and they are appealing for him to come forward.

Detective sergeant Fenton Davis from Waltham Forest Burglary and Robbery Squad said: “We do not know the reason why the victim has not approached police, but I would urge his parents or guardian to contact us to assist with this investigation.”

The teenagers who were arrested are aged between 13 and 14 and have been released on bail until later this month.

The victim is also thought to be of a similar age.

Those with information about the incident or knows the victim is urged to contact DS Davis on 020 3276 0945.

To remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
