A mum abseiled down a 150ft hotel to raise money for a children’s cancer charity.

Kerry Mulligan, 37, who lives on the Gwynn Park Estate in Woodford Green, joined other daring fundraisers at the top of the Premier Inn hotel in Stratford Westfield last Saturday (March 29).

It took Kerry around five minutes to get to the bottom.

She said: “It was a bit scary at first but I settled into it.

"It helped that my two children were at the bottom shouting ‘Go mum, go!’”

The event was organised to raise money for CLIC Sargent a charity which works with children with cancer.

Kerry said: “Once you become a mum, you think ‘how lucky am I to have healthy children?’

“I just wanted to do something to help such a worthwhile organisation.”

Abseilers who participated in Saturday's event have raised £42,000 for CLIC Sargent so far, with Kerry raising £350.
