A SOCIETY that campaigns for the preservation of a historic market town is asking children and teenagers to help it mark its 40th anniversary.
The Epping Society is holding art competitions for four groups.
Children from Epping aged from five to seven years old and seven to eleven are invited to submit
paintings on A4 paper entitled ‘Epping – My View.’
Pupils from Coopersale, Theydon Garnon, Ivy Chimneys and Epping primary schools are all participating.
Students from St John’s Secondary School in Epping will be contributing essays on the subject.
Those who attend secondary schools outside the area invited to participate by submitting essays or posters.
Residents off all ages can submit photographs on the subject which should be no larger than eight inches by six inches and can be in either black and white or colour.
All entries will be displayed in St John’s Church in St John’s Road, Epping, over July, when the winners will be announced.
The winner in each category will receive a £5 Jubilee coin and a winner’s certificate and their work will also be displayed at an anniversary celebration event in Epping High Street on July 14.
