POLICE officers were injured while arresting suspected burglars.
One officer was stabbed in the face with a screwdriver and another suffered a fractured finger as they tackled three men following a burglary in Beresford Road, Walthamstow at around 1.30pm yesterday (April 3).
Another officer suffered suspected torn knee ligaments, while a colleague suffered cuts and bruises.
Two suspects were arrested at the scene while another was detained with the help of police dogs in the Walthamstow Stadium car park in Chingford Road.
The officers were discharged from hospital this morning.
One is recovering at home but the others have returned to work.
The suspects, one aged 18 and the others 22, remain in custody but have not been charged.
