A PRIMARY school is making "satisfactory" progress in improving after being placed in special measures last autumn.
Education watchdog Ofsted criticised the quality of teaching and pupil progress at Larkswood Primary in New Road, Chingford, back in October.
In a monitoring inspection last month inspectors noted that 10 new teachers and two new assistant headteachers have now taken up posts at the school, with progress being made in some areas.
Ofsted said there was a "clear vision" for improvement from the school leadership, although progress in the quality of teaching was only satisfactory and higher standards in maths were still needed.
The watchdog will continue to monitor Larkswood closely in the coming year.
