Russell Slade says goalkeeper Jamie Jones will be in contention for tomorrow’s visit of Notts County.

The 23-year-old has been sidelined for the entire campaign, initially missing out following shoulder surgery before a wrist injury saw him suffer a further setback.

Jones has featured for the reserves since the turn of the year and Slade could be set to include the former Everton youngster for the first time this season.

His return could prove a timely one, with Leeds United loanee Paul Rachubka’s deal due to expire after the clash, but the game has come too soon for Leon McSweeney and Jamal Campbell-Ryce.

The duo remain sidelined with calf and ankle problems respectively, while Scott Cuthbert will miss the remainder of the campaign after picking up a hamstring injury.

Slade said: “Jamie could be in contention for sure. Of the outfielders, Sweens is still away from it and Jamal is still away from it, and obviously Scotty has picked up a nasty injury which will keep him out probably for up to three months.”

The O’s will be looking for their second league double of the campaign tomorrow having taken three points at Meadow Lane earlier in the season.

Goals from Stephen Dawson and Jonathan Téhoué saw Orient return to the capital with a 2-1 win back in December, and Slade will be looking for his squad to enjoy another maximum.

Keith Curle’s side have enjoyed a mixed run of results of late in their bid for promotion.

The Magpies’ last five outings have seen them claim two wins, one draw and two defeats, with their last match resulting in a 1-0 victory over Oldham Athletic.

County currently sit one place and four points shy of the play-off places, meaning they will be just as keen to secure the points as the O’s tomorrow.
