FUNDRAISING members of 2nd Theydon Garnon Brownies raised money for the breast cancer unit at St Margaret's Hospital when they sold bric-a-brac, cakes and bracelets they made.
An initial fundraising initiative also raised money for the Pines campsite in Brentwood before the 21 girls continued with their money-making enterprise to finally collect £80, which was presented to Sister Toni Wright at their weekly meeting.
The girls chose to support a cancer-related cause having after hearing about organisations and causes they may want to support.
Mrs Wright spoke about her own fundraising efforts for the unit, which saw her join a group to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
Brown Owl Pauline Symes said: "Brownies is really about helping others. "It was just fulfilling our promise of thinking about others before ourselves."
