MUSICIANS in Redbridge will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take part in a bandstand marathon.
The event will form part of the closing event for the London 2012 festival on September 9.
Musical performances held at Valentines Park in Ilford will be one of hundreds of outdoor concerts taking place simultaneously across the UK.
Every type of music is welcome, from bands, groups, choirs and individual musicians.
Cabinet member for leisure and youth services, Cllr Robin Turbefield, said: "I would urge all musicians to come forward to make this bandstand marathon a huge success and fully support the project.
"It will be a great event for music-lovers and families to attend and Valentines Park is the perfect location in our borough for this to take place."
The London 2012 festival is a 12-week nationwide celebration running from 21 June until 9 September.
